Frequently Asked Questions

  1.  Does your practice accept insurance?

Insurance coverage depends upon your therapist. Speak with your therapist at the time of inquiry to check your coverage. Our therapists take Medicaid, Kaiser, Aetna, United, and Denver Health medical plans.

Therapists with Cairn Counseling accept Medicaid, and it must be disclosed that a client has Medicaid at the time of inquiry. This is due to billing accuracy per Colorado regulation that necessitates that clients who receive Medicaid benefits utilize the coverage to pay for therapy, regardless of desire or ability to pay.

  2. What are other payment options?

Payment is accepted in the form of credit or debit. Sliding scale payment is accepted at our practice. Speak with your therapist at the time of inquiry to examine payment options. No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay; there is a discounted/sliding scale fee schedule available based on family size and income.

  3. What is therapy at Cairn Counseling like?

One of Cairn Counseling’s strengths is optionality. While each therapist has his/her own style, our practice can guarantee that therapy is a safe and judgment-free space for all clients. Upon inquiry, you will be connected to a therapist who has experience working with clients sharing similar experiences, struggles, and/or goals.

Sessions typically last between 45-60 minutes and rates depend upon the therapist.

  4. Can I bring my family / children / partner with me?

Yes. We have therapists at Cairn Counseling experienced in working with couples and families.

  5. I’m not sure which therapy is for me.

Not a problem. Submit an inquiry below, tell us a little bit about yourself, and we will work with you to find the best therapist and therapy method for your goals.
