Meet your Trainer

Kelly Klene is the owner of Cairn Counseling and an EMDRIA-approved Certified Therapist and Consultant.

Kelly Klene is a therapist with a passion for working with folks who have experienced trauma. Kelly has experience working with all ages, from very young children to older adults.

Kelly uses facets of multiple therapy modalities to assist her clients in healing. These modalities include EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and play therapy. Kelly believes that, with compassion, understanding, and unconditional acceptance, clients are able to heal and move forward in their lives.

  • We meet a total of 6 training days. The training days are broken into (2) 3-day trainings. These 3-day trainings are offered over the weekend + one weekday. The (2) training weekends are spaced a few months apart.

  • This is a 50-hour course.

  • Most days there is training in the morning and practice in the afternoon.

  • This 50-hour course includes: 20 hours in lecture, 20 hours in practice, and 10 consultation hours.

  • Payment plans can be offered by request. Contact us for more information.

  • Once you have completed this training you are EMDR trained. If you wish to pursue EMDR Certification, you are required to undertake additional hours of training and consultation. Kelly offers consultation should you wish to continue working with her.

  • The 10 included consultation hours are broken down as follows: 4 hours between training weekends and 6 hours after the training weekends.

  • Yes, they are all required.

  • If you miss an offered consultation hour, you are required to complete a consultation on your own with a qualified provider and pay out of your pocket.

  • This course is created to support the ongoing education of mental health practitioners including licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, and licensed marriage and family therapists. Pre-licensed clinicians under supervision and interns providing mental health care are able to take this course per EMDRIA guidelines.

  • Registration must be completed one month prior to the training start date.

    Refunds are provided for clinicians needing to cancel prior to one month before the start of training.

    Cancellations within one month may receive a 50% refund.

    Not attending the session without notice will not result in a refund of any mone

  • Cairn Counseling PLLC, provider number 2117, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 10/24/2024-9/24/2025. Social workers completing this course receive 40 total credits including 38 clinical, 1 ethics, and 1 social and cultural competence continuing education credits.

    There is required reading with this course. CE’s are not provided for the time it takes to complete the required reading

  • In order for the course to be considered complete, the full training must be attended, the post test must be completed, an instructor evaluation must be completed, and the clinician must engage in discussions. There are no assignments outside of these pieces. The certificate is issued to the email used to register within one week of completion of the course. The post test and instructor evaluation are provided via email; the post test is a google form that clinicians may fill out. The passing score is 60%. There are unlimited re-tests. The instructor evaluation is completed via a canvas link. Your information may be gathered to ensure that you have completed this task but may not be used for any other purpose.
