Meet Monique Vincent
Monique Vincent
(they/them)
Therapist, Licensed Addiction Counselor, and Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate
Monique specializes in sex therapy and substance use addiction, with a particular focus on compulsive sexual behaviors, addiction and recovery, and the intersection between sexuality, shame, desire, and attachment. Monique works with individuals seeking a deeper, more integrated relationship with their sexuality - especially when patterns feel confusing, distressing, or difficult to change. Monique sees clients virtually throughout Colorado and in person at their office in Boulder.
Monique’s style is collaborative, warm, and relational. Whether you are navigating recovery, exploring intimacy or relationship concerns, or seeking a more authentic connection with your sexuality, your work with Monique will be rooted in your own wisdom and capacity for growth. Their work centers both sexual distress and addiction not necessarily as problems to be solved, but as meaningful expressions of unmet needs, coping strategies, and longing for connection and relief.
Monique's approach is grounded in contemplative psychotherapy, integrating mindfulness, compassion, trauma-informed care (including EMDR), and evidence-based practices. This framework supports clients in staying present with internal experience - rather than avoiding or controlling it - so they can understand not only how patterns developed, but why they persist. From this awareness, clients can move toward choice, integrity, and sustainable change.
Monique aims to honor each client’s unique values and lived experience while fostering resilience, embodiment, and deeper connection - to self and others. Monique creates a sex-positive, shame-aware therapeutic space where clients can explore desire, boundaries, and behavior with greater clarity and self-compassion.
Fun Facts: Born & raised in Massachusetts, Monique enjoys time in nature, especially snowboarding, hiking, leaf peeping, and anything “maple”. They enjoy traveling to new places and, with their recent scuba certification, are looking forward to exploring new underwater landscapes.
